Mental health is a sensitive subject and I don’t know why.
There are all sorts of illnesses that you can’t see or that their symptoms are only obvious to the person who is ill. So why is it that we all get in a knot when we talk about mental illness.
Please, let me make it clear that I am not a doctor, counsellor, therapist or have any sort of training in this medical field. But, if you are truly honest with yourself, like me you have been touched by mental illness. I know several people right now that are on medication just to cope with the chaotic world we live in. Although I have never been diagnosed, I know when I have struggled with depression.
In my humble opinion, if we are truly honest with ourselves, we have all struggled at one time or another. Think about it, there are times in our lives where things just are too tough to handle. We all deal with death, some more than others. What makes you think that you are supposed to just ‘get over it’ in someone else time frame. Financial stress is some of the hardest to deal with, believe me. People don’t like talking about financial struggles and therefore if you are having troubles making ends meet, you are feeling very alone.
Please, get real help when you need it. Sometimes, it is just to get you through a tough situation. Sometimes, it is teaching you how to cope with life in general. And know that with all the people in the world, somebody else has dealt with your kind of tension, and therefore you are not alone and there is help.
This article can be very helpful. It is not a cure or has all the answers, but if you can add some of these suggested foods to your diet, they can help. It is always better to be preventative than reactive.
